Dearly missed UUCH friends,
I hope you are all well and finding plenty of fulfilling things to do – like home projects, books, movies, puzzles or simply enjoying the beautiful (if wet) spring weather!
You may recall that we had postponed our pledge drive until May. Many of you have done your part and pledged, but if you haven’t yet, I encourage your generosity and commitment and ask that you offer your pledge now. I hope you will join me in financially supporting UUCH with your generous pledge by using this direct link to the donation page: https://uuchnc.org/connection/donate/stewardship/. Please send your pledges by May 31st, so that we can plan next year’s budget. Thank you for your dedication to our faith and community!
Patty has been doing a fantastic job offering her Sunday sermons and pastoral care and Aviva has been our musical tech queen, pulling people and their musical talents together for instrumentals and singing. Allison and Steve Mahaley have used their videoing mastery to provide our Facebook/YouTube Sunday gatherings. What you don’t see is the dedicated work of Alicia Volkheimer and Dick Merritt keeping our finances in order and ensuring our regular bills and obligations continue to be met. The Buildings and Grounds crew have been faithfully mowing, weeding maintaining and improving our grounds, Ministry Circles are meeting virtually, and the Coming of Age team and youth have been learning and growing together.
I am very proud to remind you that a portion of your pledge helps UUCH pay its Fair Share dues to the UUA. With the support of conscientious congregations like ours, we support its organizational work, advocacy, and renewal of our faith. In turn, the UUA continues to provide us with useful and effective support and resources. Our “Share the Plate” donations generously support many local organizations in our community who serve those who need assistance, advocacy and allies. Our UUCH plays a respected and important role in our community.
You can help support our community partner organizations with your donation to the virtual “share the plate” by going to our web page https://uuchnc.org/connection/donate/. By mail, you can send your pledge or donation to UUCH, P.O. Box 275, Hillsborough, N.C., 27278, or you can contact Alicia Volkheimer at email@example.com.
We have a lovely community and space in which to worship/gather together. Let’s keep it strong and healthy during this COVID pandemic. Thank you all! I know we all look forward to seeing each other as soon as possible! Until we can be together, stay healthy and well!
In faith and service,
Linda Seligman, Moderator
