Our Whole Lives (OWL) Classes
*** Registration is closed for our Spring 2025 4th-6th grade OWL class. ***

OWL is sexuality education valuing self-worth, sexual health, responsibility, justice, and inclusivity. OWL models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. The 4-6th grade curriculum covers topics such as changes of puberty, positive body image, physical health, and healthy relationships. More details about the curriculum can be found at the UUA OWL website. If you have any questions, please reach out to re@uuchnc.org.
We plan to offer 4-6th grade OWL again in Spring of 2027 and hope to offer 7-9th grade OWL again in Spring of 2028.
Requirements for 4-6th Grade OWL registration:
1. At least one parent/caregiver (preferably two caregivers) must be able to attend an orientation meeting on at UUCH (1710 Old NC 10, Hillsborough, NC).
2. Participants must be currently in 4-6th grade (UUCH members/regular attendees) or in 5th grade if previously unaffiliated with UUCH.
3. Participants should be willing to do additional reading assignments outside of class from the book “It’s Perfectly Normal” and caregivers should be willing to support this reading. (It’s an interesting, fun read, we promise!)
4. Caregivers should fill out the OWL registration form and, if participants are not already registered for UUCH Religious Exploration (RE) classes, that form should be filled out as well.
5. Participants should be available to attend 11 classes on Sundays from 10:30-noon.
